Borneo@WORK – Tiang api yang semakin meningkat ke atas ibu negara Yaman dari Sanaa, menurut imej dramatik membanjiri media sosial, di tengah-tengah laporan bahawa kemudahan peluru berpandu Scud pada Fáj Attan Hill, di luar bandar, telah jatuh di bawah serangan baru.
Gudang telah datang di bawah serangan kedua-dua malam sebelumnya dan sehari sebelum itu. Asas dilaporkan menyimpan sebahagian besar Elbrus (Scud-B) Yaman R-17 dan peluru berpandu Transporter Penegak Pelancar (TEL).
Gabungan yang dipimpin Arab beberapa Negara Teluk, Sudan, Mesir dan Maghribi telah mengebom Yaman sejak Khamis lalu dalam usaha untuk melemahkan pemberontak Houthi, yang mengambil alih negara selepas peletakan jawatan presiden, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, pada bulan Januari.
Juga pada hari Isnin, satu serangan udara oleh gabungan itu melanda kem pelarian pemberontak yang dikawal di Yaman utara, membunuh 45 dan mencederakan 65 orang yang lain, Pertubuhan Antarabangsa bagi Migrasi (IMO) berkata.
Depot senjata juga dihujani di bandar kedua negara Aden pada hari Sabtu, meninggalkan 14 orang mati.
Pemberontakan Houthi bermula pada Yaman Ogos lalu sebagai pemberontak Syiah melanda turun dari kubu kuat mereka di pergunungan, menuntut pembaharuan ekonomi dan politik.
Pada bulan-bulan berikutnya, mereka merampas pemasangan negeri utama di ibu negara Sanaa dan memaksa pihak berkuasa Amerika Syarikat yang disokong negara keluar.
Para pemberontak di Yaman disokong oleh saingan utama geopolitik Arab Saudi, Iran, tetapi Houthis telah menafikan bahawa mereka menerima senjata dari Tehran.

Heavy blasts outside Yemen’s capital, attack on Scud
missile storage feared . . .
Pillars of fire are rising over the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, according to dramatic images flooding social media, amid reports that a Scud missile facility on Faj Attan Hill, just outside the city, has fallen under a new attack.
The warehouses already came under fire both the previous night and the day before that. The base reportedly stores a large portion of Yemen's R-17 Elbrus (Scud-B) missiles and Transporter Erector Launchers (TEL).
The Saudi-led coalition of several Gulf States, Sudan, Egypt and Morocco has been bombing Yemen since last Thursday in an attempt to weaken the Houthi rebels, who took control of country after resignation of president, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, in January.
Also on Monday, an airstrike by the coalition hit a rebel-controlled refugee camp in the northern Yemen, killing 45 and injuring another 65 people, the International Organization for Migration (IMO) said.

An arms depot was also bombarded in the country’s second city of Aden on Saturday, leaving 14 people dead.
The Houthi uprising began in Yemen last August as the Shia rebels swept down from their stronghold in the mountains, demanding economic and political reforms.
In the following months, they seized key state installations in capital Sanaa and forced the country’s US-backed authorities out.
The rebels in Yemen are supported by Saudi Arabia’s main geopolitical rival, Iran, but the Houthis have denied that they are receiving weapons from Tehran.
